Website done

Finally, I’ve been able to clean up my library’s website somewhat. It’s still pretty bad, but not as bad as it used to be. It even looks decent — imagine that. Lot’s more work to do, though. Dr. Richard Allen Farmer gave an outstanding presentation today in chapel, on 1 Peter 3:18-19. Did Christ go to Hell those three days after dying on the cross? Or did he simply lie in the grave? Dr. Farmer’s point is that whichever doctrine you believe, the overriding point is that Christ is Lord over ALL, whether that be the depths of hades or the heights of the heavens. A good reminder.

Dirk Bean

Another hot, sunny day in Indiana. Went to chapel and heard Dirk Bean give his testimony. He was a member of the original Survivor TV show on CBS who was very open about his faith. It was great to hear what he had to say about standing up for what you believe, relying fully on God’s Word, and trusting Him to make your own dreams a reality.

Keeping an eye on the lawn

It’s a beautiful day! I love this weather — warm, breezy, in the 70s. There is apparently no spring in this part of Indiana where we live; it’s an abrupt change from winter to summer. Only two and a half weeks ago, we had a foot of snow on the ground. Now I have to keep a constant eye on the lawn, the grass is growing so fast. Last night I mowed our very large (one acre) lawn for the first time. Boy am I glad we have a riding lawnmower…This a.m. started out with more excitement than anticipated, when our dog, Sarah, decided to run away. Fortunately I was able to catch up with her after a while. I recently submitted an article to an excellent website, www.liscareer.com, entitled “Lessons in Leadership: Practical Ideas for Growing Your Library Career.”

Tax Day in the USA

Uh, it’s Tax Day in the USA…Good thing we got our tax return done early. Our big news is that we are expecting child number 3 later this year. We won’t know whether it’s a boy or a girl since our doctor, by policy, does not reveal the sex of the child. Michele’s had a fair amount of morning sickness, unlike previous pregnancies. Maybe it’s a girl!
