Adoption process

Keegan got his report card yesterday. We noticed that he has gone down hill a little bit in some areas, but overall, he did well. He’s on the honor roll again at school and he will be honored at a dinner hosted by the school in a few weeks. Still no word about the adoption report from Indiana Child and Family Services, though. It’s sitting on some supervisor’s desk waiting for her to review and approve it. Once that’s done, it will be submitted to the court and then a court hearing will be set as the last step in the whole process. I can’t wait for this whole process to be done with. At work, we’ve been praying for Mark Cosgrove, chair of Taylor’s Psychology Department and husband of Jo Ann, our ILL person, who was diagnosed with a brain aneurism last week. He is in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, awaiting the proper time for surgery.

No more pacifier for Tristan

After more wintry weather these past few days, we now have about a foot of snow on the ground, and I still haven’t managed to dig out the driveway…Even I am beginning to long for Spring. It’s nice to have Michele and the younger children home again after they were gone for a week, staying with my in-laws. While they were there, Michele managed to wean Tristan from his pacifier — AT LAST. In celebration, we threw a party for him on Saturday. He is growing up so quickly! Michele and I and the kids are looking forward to a trip to Florida. We’ll fly from Indianapolis to Orlando and then drive to New Smyrna Beach, where my brother, Jeff, has rented a townhouse for a week. My mother will be there, too, and so will my brother, Dan. It’ll be a fun time, and we hope for some warm weather. I’ve never been to Florida, and neither has Michele.

Keegan and me time

OK, it’s been forever and an age (since October of last year) since I’ve updated this website. It’s been a busy time and I haven’t felt up to the task of writing something here ’til now. Keegan and I have been bachelors this past week since Michele, along with Tristan and Brinley, are staying with her parents. Her mom is recovering from having both of her knees replaced and needed Michele’s care. It’s been nice and quiet around the house! But it has been lonely, too. This is the longest time that Keegan and I have ever had just to ourselves, and I think he has really enjoyed that. Tonight I hope to take him to a movie. He wants to see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets but I’m not sure that it is still showing at any nearby theater. We’ll see. The weather here has been rather frightful, lots of snow and cold, so much so that even I am beginning to long for Spring to arrive! Today is a typical day, gloomy and dark, but at least there isn’t more precipitation (yet).
