Just finished reading an excellent book, The Coalwood Way by Homer Hickam. This is one of those books that I love to read. It’s a warm-hearted autobiography about a boy in his senior year of high school in a small coal-mining town in West Virginia. He dreams of being a rocket scientist and meeting Werner von Braun some day. The events of his senior year, his family life, and the goings on in the small town of Coalwood really resonated with me. Highly recommended. A previous book by Hickam was made into the movie October Sky.
